Band : Carla Bozulich

Town (country) : Montreal, QC (Canada)

Setlist :

One Hard Man

Comments : It had been three years since the last time I saw Carla Bozulich and she was long overdue in Montreal. I really enjoy her new album Boy and I am really happy with the current incarnation of her band with John Eichenseer and Lisa Gamble. Tonight's set was the best one I have seen in quite a while, both intense, violent and fragile at the same time. Sadly, the band played as an opener tonight. Before One Hard Man, a guy from the organization came to Carla telling her that they only had time for one last song and distastefully insisted that it had to be a short one. This rude intervention deprived us from hearing The Creeps, as written on the setlist.

Total Life + Karl Lemieux - Dazibao - September 13th 2014

Band : Total Life + Karl Lemieux
Venue : Dazibao
Town (country) : Montreal, QC (Canada)
Date : September 13th 2014
Grade : 3/5

Setlist :

Comments : Tonight was the closing event for the exhibition Electronic Sound In A Shifting Landscape curated by Steve Bates and the art gallery was pretty packed when the show started. I had hopes that Dave Bryant would make a secret appearance in tonight's performance but he didn't. I found Karl's projections more violent this time (violent in the pace, not in the actual images) and Kevin's music got pretty harsh towards the end of the set, no complains here.
