Drub - Brasserie Beaubien - November 30th 2014

Band : Drub
Venue : Brasserie Beaubien (Cuch Fest IX)
Town (country) : Montreal, QC (Canada)
Date : November 30th 2014
Grade : 3/5

Setlist :
Concsciousness Circus Tent

Comments : Second show for Drub. I quite enjoyed their first concert a couple of weeks ago, so I thought that would be nice to see them again, especially as they were playing first. Tonight was also my first experience at Brasserie Beaubien. The show was in huge contrast with the venue's set up and it was another very nice experience.

Godspeed You ! Black Emperor - Théâtre Granada - November 25th 2014

Band : Godspeed You ! Black Emperor
Venue : Théâtre Granada
Town (country) : Sherbrooke, QC (Canada)
Date : August 14th 2014
Grade : 5/5

Setlist :
Albanian (Mladic)
Behemoth
? (new)
The Sad Mafioso (East Hastings)

Comments : GY!BE is always the perfect excuse for a road trip, although the venue security was not the most welcoming this time (enforced no photo policy and mandatory coat check). The attendance was also lower than expected and the balcony was closed to the public. Anyway, another great show, including the grand premiere of a brand new song. I enjoyed tonight more than the two nights in Montreal in January.

Elizabeth Anka Vajagic - Agora Du Coeur Des Sciences De l'UQAM - November 18th 2014

Band : Elizabeth Anka Vajagic
Venue : Agora Du Coeur Des Sciences De l'UQAM (RIDM)
Town (country) : Montreal, QC (Canada)
Date : November 18th 2014
Grade : 4/5

Setlist :
n/a

Comments : Elizabeth has played no more than 3 shows since the last time I saw her and I sadly managed to miss each of them, so even a snow storm was not going to stop me tonight. An amazing performance as expected, probably her strongest I have seen in years. Now, I really hope to see her again soon and that a new album is on the way.

Comments : We found out quite late that the Tiger Lilles were coming back to Montreal so we got quite shitty seats. I also got a bit scared when I found out that tonight's show was a play (Hamlet), but my fears quickly dissapeared through the performance as the theatre parts were extremely well balanced with the songs.

Love Will Tear Us Apart

Comments : Another really great evening with Peter Hook & the Light. Tonight they performed Low Life and Brotherhood, we got a short set of Joy Division to start the evening and we even had Love Will Tear Us Apart as an unplanned encore. Surprisingly the attendance was lower than the previous times and the balcony was closed. What's next ? I will actually be more reserved if the next tour is Technique and Republique. The mandatory coat check at Club Soda was the usual mess.
